Josh is a critically-acclaimed chef and owner of three renowned London-based restaurant concepts; Berber & Q, Shawarma Bar and Carmel, as well as a published author of two cookbooks.
Prior to launching Berber & Q, his first self-owned restaurant, in 2015, Josh worked in some of the best kitchens in the capital, including Galvin Bistrot de Luxe and Ottolenghi.
Best known for cooking over fire, Josh's culinary inspiration draws from across the Mediterranean basin, incorporating the bright colours and bold flavours that are so synonymous with the region.
As well as running his own restaurant group, Josh also works as Culinary Consultant for Vida Plena Hospitality Group in Lisbon and remains available for restaurant consultancy and menu development.

Josh's first book, Berber & Q; The Cookbook was published in May 2018 and contains 120 recipes from the restaurants and beyond, including the signature cauliflower shawarma, as well as the now legendary Berber & Q hummus. Lots of barbecued classics, perfect for sharing and pairing in different combinations.
The follow up, Berber & Q; On Vegetables was released in May 2022 and includes countless options for how to cook every type of veg, from a quick scorch in the pan and a flash of heat from the grill, to a low and slow roast, as well as methods for how to season and flavour using simple marinades, dustings of spice and deliciously moreish sweet and sour dressings.
